OpenAir Cinema

Fancy seeing a movie? There's no better theatre than Sydney Harbour.

Sydney boasts several excellent outdoor cinemas, but the St George OpenAir Cinema is truly special. Held during summer in the Royal Botanic Gardens, the cinema shows premiere movies, old favourites and cult classics on a giant screen, right beside the harbour. There's nothing quite like curling up under a twilight sky, watching a great flick, with the city and harbour lights twinkling in the background.

The cinema also features an al fresco restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy a meal and a drink before the show. Cinema seats are limited, so book tickets well in advance and arrive early!

After dark, when the crowds have eased, the tanks are full of life and take on an almost magical quality. Marvel at the majestic rays, turtles and dugongs as they glide overhead, admire the brightly coloured corals and fish, and observe secretive nocturnal animals, like the platypus, when they're most active.
