The Fisher's Ghost Festival is an annual event in Campbelltown. The festival takes its name from a mysterious incident that occurred in 1826. Local farmer Frederick Fisher disappeared one day and, according to folklore, his ghost appeared sitting on a fence rail just south of the town where he was spotted, and pointed to the site where his body was later found. Today the festival is held every November and features fairground rides and entertainment, as well as various other activities celebrating the legend.
Campbelltown is also home to the Wests Tigers rugby league team, with many of their games played at Campbelltown Stadium.
